Food safety is a fundamental public health concern. The Food Safety and Quality has become an area of priority and necessity for consumers, retailers, manufacturers and regulators.Food safety is a scientific discipline describing handling, preparation, and storage of food in ways that prevent foodborne illness. This includes a number of routines that should be followed to avoid potentially severe health hazards.In this way Food Safety often overlaps with Food Defense to prevent harm to consumers.
The core objective of the programme is to develop professionals i.e, food sfety officer/Quality Control Officer for development, implementation and auditing of Food Safety and Quality Management in the state and also in country. It seeks to develop India�s capability to meet the global food safety and quality requirements and enhance competitiveness of food products. In long term perspective, it would contribute to ensure consumer safety within and outside the country.
PG Diploma in Food Safety and Quality Manangement is an upgraded safety education for Professionals like Engineers, HR Managers to delegate their responsibilities in a more authentic way
The duration of the program of study is one years.
